Rohit Sharma is all set to return to the Indian side as a skipper after recovering from his injuries. This will be his first ODI series after being appointed as a permanent captain. He will look forward to lead the team from the front and his batting records as a captain is stupendous.
One of the favourite teams to bat against for the Indian skipper is West Indies and the numbers prove the aforementioned statement. In 33 ODI matches against Windies, he has hit 1523 with an average of 60.92 which includes three hundreds and eleven fifties.

2. Shikhar Dhawan

Shikhar Dhawan has become one of the most unavoidable players in the ODI squad. His numbers in the last two years have been amazing as he has maintained an average of above 55 in the last two years. He was the highest run-getter of the Indian ODI side in the recently concluded South Africa series and is expected to open the innings with Rohit Sharma.
3. Virat Kohli

This series against West Indies is the best chance for this veteran player to hit his long-awaited century. As we all know, <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/virat-kohli-ab-de-villiers-are-my-favorite-players-i-want-to-pay-for-rcb-dewald-brevis/">Kohli</a> has not hit a century in the last two years and is longed by the whole cricketing fraternity and the fans to see him doing so.
Kohli’s last ODI century came against the West Indian side and has hit his maximum ODI centuries (nine) against the same team. He has also been relieved from the burden of captaincy and he won’t get a better chance to score his 43rd ODI century. On facing the maroons on 39 occasions, he has scored 2235 runs with an average of 72.09.

4. Rishabh Pant

Rishab Pant has now become an integral part of the team and is the first choice for the wicketkeeping role. He made his ODI debut against West Indies and has played a total of nine matches against them in which he has scored 178 runs. He is a fearless batter and has been successful at number four.
5. KL Rahul

<a href="https://www.crictracker.com/a-person-is-either-a-born-leader-or-he-isnt-manoj-tiwary-questions-kl-rahuls-appointment-as-captain/">KL Rahul</a>, the interim captain in the absence of Rohit Sharma, will be the Hitman&#8217;s deputy in this series. While he was opening the innings in South Africa, his top-order batting position is at stake as Rohit has returned and hence will most probably bat at number five.
This versatile player has been quite successful at number five as he averages 56.63 in that position. He is a good player of spin too and will be tested here in this place. When it is against West Indies, Rahul has 233 runs in four ODI’s at an average of 58.25. It must be noted that Rahul will give the opening ODI a miss but will return for remaining fixtures.

6. Suryakumar Yadav

The Indian team lacked their middle-order strength in the South African ODI series. Suryakumar Yadav&#8217;s presence in the middle order batting would allow the top-order batters to play freely. SKY has been a part of four ODI’s and has an amazing average of 54.43 with his strike rate being 122.55. His quick-fire thirties or forties can help the team pose a good total.
7. Washington Sundar

Washington Sundar has made a comeback into the ODI squad after four years since his debut match. He played his only ODI against Sri Lanka and picked a wicket by giving away 65 runs in ten overs. He is not tested with the bat yet in the One Day Internationals.
This 22-year-old youngster is known for his economical bowling in the powerplays and is useful with his bat too. He will fit in the role in which <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/hes-not-that-reckless-kid-anymore-dinesh-karthik-backs-ravindra-jadeja-to-solve-indias-middle-order-woes/">Jadeja</a> was playing these many years. Sundar comes back to the team after suffering from an injury. He was the third-highest wicket-taker in the Vijay Hazare Trophy and he also played some crucial cameos with the bat.

8.  Deepak Chahar

When the Indian bowlers struggled to pick wickets in South Africa in the first two ODI’s, Deepak who made into the team lastly, took early wickets and bowled an excellent spell.
Apart from his bowling, he almost carried the team forward to the winning stage with his bat, but he was dismissed for a hard-fought 54 runs. He has an incredible average of 70.50 with the bat and has taken eight wickets in six ODIs so far.
9. Kuldeep Yadav

The first Chinaman bowler of the Indian men team, Kuldeep Yadav, makes his comeback to the ODI squad after being missed out in a few of the series due to his decline in form. He has played 65 matches and has taken 107 wickets which includes four 4-wicket hauls and a fifer. He will be carrying the high hopes of people to get back to his prime.

10. Prasidh Krishna

The new pace sensation, Prasidh Krishna is a useful weapon for the Indian team to pick wickets and contain the run flow in death overs. The right-arm pacer has played four ODI’s and has picked nine wickets at an average of 25.88. His impressive spell of 3/59 in the match against South Africa and the absence of senior bowlers like Jasprit Bumrah Bumrah, and Mohammed Shami would certainly earn him the spot in the eleven.
11. Yuzvendra Chahal

He has been very effective along with Kuldeep Yadav in the middle overs and has been a wicket-taking bowler. However, his last few games did not go as well as he would have wanted.
This 31-year-old leggie plays at home game after 2019 and the much-awaited duo of Kuldeep and Chahal are back in the series. He has played a total of 59 matches and has grabbed 99 wickets with an economy of 5.19. In the spin-friendly Indian conditions, Chahal would aim to switch back to his best.

The Indian team management certainly has some brainstorming to do.
