Opening the innings for India’s flop ODI XI of the decade along with Murali Vijay will be Gujarat’s wicket-keeper batsman, Parthiv Patel. He has not played a single ODI match since 2012 which itself showcases his poor form in the format.
He played 24 matches for the Indian ODI side and aggregated 604 runs in this decade. The left-handed opening batsman could not breach the 100-run mark even once in the 24 games he played. His best ODI score in the last 10 years was 95.
Though he had a decent strike rate of 82.06, his below-par average of 27.45 led to his exit from the team. Besides, Patel even got out for a duck once. He is active in the IPL and the domestic circuit but the chances of his comeback to team India are minimal.
