Manish Pandey has been in a positive frame of mind in recent times. The 30-year-old was the skipper of Karnataka in the VHT trophy and guided his team to a win at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The Nainital-born was their leading run-scorer with 525 runs.

His top score of 142* came versus Chhattisgarh and it won’t be wrong in saying that he must be oozing with confidence. It’s now time for him to translate the same at the highest level. Pandey has been in the national selectors’ scheme of things after the World Cup and he will dearly wish to make most of the opportunity.

In T20Is, the right-hander has 565 runs at an average of 37.66 with two fifties. Against Bangladesh, Pandey got a chance in the Nidahas Trophy last year and turned up with 27* and 28.
