India’s long tour of Australia will involve three ODIs, three T20Is, and a 4-match Test series where the two teams contest for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. A lot of individual records and milestones are expected to take place through the course of the next two months. Australia will be having full-strength squads in all three formats but India will be missing their star opener, Rohit Sharma during the limited-overs series and their captain Virat Kohli for the last three matches of the Test series.
Here are the approaching milestones of players to look out during India’s tour of Australia 2020-21:
91 – Yuzvendra Chahal has picked up 91 wickets till date in his 52-match ODI career. The leg-spinner will become the fastest Indian to reach 100 ODI wickets if he takes nine wickets in his next three ODIs.
297 – Number of wickets Ishant Sharma has bagged in his 97-match Test career thus far. Ishant needs three more wickets to become the 6th Indian to claim 300 wickets in Test cricket. Sharma will also become the slowest to pick 300 Test wickets breaking the existing record of Daniel Vettori (94).
300 – The Australian pacers Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins inch closer to 300 wickets in International having claimed 286 and 288 wickets respectively thus far. Only nine players have managed to claim 300 wickets in International cricket for Australia thus far. Hazlewood, in fact, is only five wickets away from completing 200 wickets in Test cricket.
390 – Nathan Lyon needs ten more wickets to become just the 3rd player to pick as many as 400 wickets in Test cricket for Australia. With those ten scalps, Lyon will also become only the 3rd right-arm off-spinner with 400 Test wickets.
1869 – Ravindra Jadeja needs 131 more runs to complete 2000 runs in Test cricket. He will then become only the 5th Indian to achieve the double of 2000+ runs and 200+ wickets in the longer format.
4983 – Aaron Finch, the ODI skipper of Australia, needs 17 more runs to complete 5000 runs in the ODI format. Finch will become the 2nd fastest Australian to 5000 ODI runs if he scores those 17 runs in his next two innings.
5840 – Runs Cheteshwar Pujara has aggregated during his 77-match Test career thus far. The Saurashtra batsman needs 160 more runs to become the 11th Indian with 6000 runs in Test cricket.
14812 – David Warner has amassed 14812 runs in his International career thus far and is 188 runs away from becoming the 8th Aussie to aggregate 15000 International runs. Warner has scored 14584 of them while opening the batting for Australia. He needs 416 more runs to become just the 8th player to reach 15000 International runs as an opener.
21901 – Virat Kohli needs 99 more runs for completing 22000 runs in International cricket. Virat (11867 runs) is also 133 runs away from reaching 12000 runs in ODI cricket. The Indian skipper will become the fastest to reach both the milestones.
