India’s tour of Zimbabwe report card- Indian team’s performance ratings: The Indian board sent a team to Zimbabwe which had the names who had a lot to do for themselves at the team, and they were successful to an extent. A 3-0 win over Zimbabwe in the ODI series by this less reputed squad after Bangladesh beat a full strength Indian team in the ODI series last month makes it even more luscious. Though they would have loved to end it better than a 1-1 in the T20Is; the team can fly back as a proud unit. But how do fans learn how the players fared on the tour? Here is the India’s tour of Zimbabwe report card- Indian team’s performance ratings: Ajinkya Rahane- 6.5/10: Ajinkya Rahane. (Photo Source: AFP) Ajinkya Rahane had a middling and a mediocre Zimbabwe tour in the limited overs format. Rahane couldn’t convert his starts into big ones as much as he would have liked. Rahane racked up one half century in the campaign and his other innings were pretty much flashes of brilliance but not good enough so as to sustain it to momentousness. Overall CricTracker gives a rating of 6.5 for Rahane in this tour. Murali Vijay- 6.5/10: Murali Vijay. (Photo Source: Associated Press) Vijay was pretty much the carbon copy of Rahane in this series as he too couldn’t capitalize on the rollicking starts that he got so as to eventually make it big. He scored 72 in the second ODI and had a moderately appreciable tour that earns him 6.5 points as per our rating. Ambati Rayudu – 8/10: Ambati Rayudu. (Photo Source: Associated Press) Ambati Rayudu played 2 matches before he got ruled out of the series due to injury. But nevertheless he performed really well in the chances he got including a century. Rayudu may well cement his place in the Indian side if he continues his good run of form. It is to be noted that Rayudu is a consistent performer both in the IPL as well as in the domestic circuit. Ambati Rayudu was named as Man Of The Series in the ODI Series. Robin Uthappa- 5/10: Robin Uthappa. (Photo Source: Associated Press) Uthappa was the stellar performer with the bat for the men in blue in the T20 format with two 30 plus scores in the two matches but couldn’t quite live up to the desired expectations and was not close to his best in the ODI series. In the measure of our yardstick he has picked up a rating of 5. Kedar Jadhav- 5/10: Kedar Jadhav. (Photo Source: BCCI) The centurion in the 3rd ODI, Kedar Jadhav announced himself on the big stage as someone with great temperament willing to diligently move forward with unflagging efforts. But barring that century that enabled his side to pocket up the series he has had a forgetful campaign. Manish Pandey- 4.5/10: Manish Pandey. (Photo Source: Associated Press) Except for a well struck, exquisitely constructed half century in the third ODI, there wasn’t much that emanated from the willow of the talented Indian lad. His inconsistent performance has only got him an unimpressive rating of 4.5. Stuart Binny- 7.5/10: Stuart Binny. (Photo Source: BCCI) Binny may well make a name for himself as India’s core all rounder replacing Jadeja if he continues performing like this. He racked up 7 wickets in the series with a wonderful half century with the bat as well. His consistent showing has got him 7.5 rating points in our analysis. Harbhajan Singh- 5.5/10: Harbhajan Singh. (Photo Source: Associated Press) The turbanator bowled pretty well in the tour with 6 wickets in 4 matches that he played. Harbhajan didn’t get much opportunity to brandish his aggressive counter punching skills with the bat. It can be termed a worthy tour for the veteran offie where he displayed that he still has a lot of cricket in him to offer to the team. Axar Patel- 8/10: Axar Patel. (Photo Source: Associated Press) Axar Patel justified his reputation as the next big thing for India with his swashbuckling performances in the tour. His economy rate was below 6 in both the T20 games in which he bowled and picked up humpty number of wickets as well. His superb showing has earned him 8 points in our rating. Bhuvneshwar Kumar- 6/10: Bhuvneshwar Kumar. (© Getty Images) Bhuvi the pace spearhead of the side was a little lackluster in the tour, but chipped in with wickets and blocked the run flow when required. In the second ODI he missed the coveted fifer by a whisker as he racked up 4 wickets. But barring that, there isn’t much to talk about him. Sandeep Sharma- 4.5/10: Sandeep Sharma. (Photo Source: Punjab Ranji Team Twitter Handle) Sandeep Sharma came into the tournament with the reputation of having bowled the most number of dot balls in the recently concluded IPL. His bowling was not so impressive in the limited opportunities he got. But nevertheless if India sticks with him further and provide him even more chances then we might see a great bowler in making. Dhawal Kulkarni – 4/10: Dhawal Kulkarni. (Photo Source: BCCI) Kulkarni was lack luster in his performances with just 2 wickets in the 2 ODI’s he played. He was also a touch expensive that connotes to his rating of 4 in our scale. Mohit Sharma – 6.5/10: Mohit Sharma. (Photo Source: Associated Press) Mohit bowled really well in the two T20 matches that he played. He contained runs as well as picking wickets at regular intervals. He has earned a rating of 6.5
