India’s U19 World Cup-winning captain Yash Dhull arrived in Delhi and was accorded a grand welcome. The 19-year-old was felicitated by the DC Bal Bhavan Academy for leading the Indian side to the title.

The official Twitter handle of the Delhi Capitals (DC) posted a few pictures of Dhull’s arrival in Delhi. Dhull was also awarded a cash prize of INR 251000 as well by the DC Bal Bhavan Academy.

“He’s a jolly good fellow captain. The U19 World Cup-winning skipper, Yash Dhull made a grand arrival in Delhi and was felicitated for his achievements by DC Bal Bhavan Academy,” tweeted the official Twitter handle of Delhi Capitals.

Yash Dhull was in excellent form in the ICC U19 World Cup

Yash Dhull was in riveting form during the ICC U19 World Cup that took place in the Caribbean. The right-hander plundered 229 runs in the 4 innings that he played, and scored his runs at an average in excess of 75.

Dhull also struck a century and a half-century in the competition as well. The 19-year-old has also been included in the Delhi squad for the upcoming Ranji Trophy tournament that will commence on 17th February 2022. The Delhi side will be led by Pradeep Sangwan in the Ranji Trophy tournament.

The Ranji Trophy tournament will be held in two phases. While all the league stage encounters will take place before the 2022 edition of the IPL, the knockout matches will be held after the 2022 IPL season. The tournament will conclude in the month of June this year. The Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Jay Shah confirmed the same.

“The Board has decided to conduct the Ranji Trophy this season in two phases. In the first phase, we plan to complete all matches of the league stage while the knockouts will be held in June,” said Jay Shah as quoted by The Hindu.
