The multi format white-ball contests will help in the preparations for both the sides for the 2023 ODI World Cup and the 2024 T20 World Cup.The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), has opted to spread out the games over six different locations in India.

India skipper Rohit Sharma last played in a 50-over match in the second ODI against Bangladesh when he was injured during the course of the clash. He was then kept in the sidelines in the third and final ODI and is on course to recover for the Sri Lanka series.
