Injured Mustafizur Rahman set to miss out remainder of Sussex matches

After all the excitement and anticipation around Bangladesh left-arm fast bowler, Mustafizur Rahman’s county appearance for Sussex comes in a news that the pacer will no longer take part in the remainder of the NatWest T20 Blast and Royal London One-Day Cup group games.
Mustafizur who only bowled 7.2 overs and suffered a shoulder injury which has ruled him out of the preliminary games and his availability for the knockouts will be clear only after scans. “The 20-year old under the direction of the Bangladesh Cricket Board, is due to have a scan this week to ascertain whether or not he will be fit enough to play in any knockout matches should Sussex qualify for the latter stages of either competition.” A Sussex press release stated.
He was full of praises for the team Head Coach Mark Davis, skipper Luke Wright and his Sussex teammates. Mustafizur played 2 NatWest T20 Blast matches this season, first against Essex Eagles and then against Surrey and was expected to play a key part in Sunday’s match against Gloucestershire in Cheltenham in the Royal London One-Day Cup but the injury will keep him out of it.
“Sussex Cricket would like to wish Mustafizur all the best for the future and we wish him a speedy recovery from his injury.” The release further read.

Bangladesh Cricket Board, on the other hand, would like to take it easy on the pacer and give him enough time to rehabilitate and recover out of the injury. Earlier the left-arm pacer suffered a hamstring injury towards the business end of the IPL which kept him out of the Sunrisers Hyderabad team for the playoffs and the final as well. He is seen as the one for the future of Bangladesh cricket and maintaining his fitness would be a huge task for the young pacer.
