2. Virat Kohli (vs Australia, 2013)

Australia had toured India for a seven-match ODI series and it was the decider with the series locked at 3-3. Shikhar Dhawan was dismissed after the opening stand added 112 runs in 19 overs. Virat Kohli arrived and set off for a single after tapping the ball to mid-off. Rohit, at the other end, kept on watching the ball and didn’t leave his crease. By the time he had yelled ‘no’ to his partner, Kohli had almost reached the other end. It was a rather easy run-out with Kohli being dismissed for a three-ball duck.

What followed after that was an absolute carnage. Rohit Sharma just made light work of Australian bowlers and slammed the maiden double hundred of his ODI career. He smashed the ball around the park nonchalantly and went on to plunder 209 runs off just 158 deliveries. Amazingly, he had hit 12 fours and a whopping 16 maximums at Chinnaswamy Stadium. India went on to score 383 runs in 50 overs and he was only dismissed in the last over.
