It takes a lot of sweat, effort, dedication, commitment, and determination to earn the prestigious India jersey which fulfills a player’s dream of representing the country at the highest level and they go on to do wonders donning it with their names and numbers inscribed at the back. While it is a proud moment for any Indian cricketer to perform consistently by wearing the national team’s jersey, there have been times when they borrowed their teammate’s jersey due to some unavoidable circumstances.
Over the last few years, a few Indian players have been spotted wearing jerseys with the names and numbers of their teammates, and recently, it happened in the ongoing limited-overs series against the West Indies. Surprisingly three players were spotted donning a similar jersey during the second T20I and without further ado, here’s a look at four of those instances when the Indian players wore their teammate’s jersey on the field.
4. Deepak Hooda wearing Prasidh Krishna’s jersey
This incident happened during the second One Day International between India and the West Indies last week. In that match, batting all-rounder Deepak Hooda was seen wearing Prasidh Krishna’s jersey. For those unaware, Prasidh’s jersey number is 24.
What stood out here is that Hooda, who was wearing a borrowed jersey for this fixture, had the number 24 printed behind it while Prasidh Krishna’s name was hidden by a tape.
The exact reason behind Hooda wearing Krishna’s jersey is still unknown and no official confirmation regarding the same has been received.
