However, there are four instances in T20I when team’s batsman had scored a ton and that team actually lost the match and recently we saw that in Sydney when Shane Watson’s magnificent ton went in vain as India won the match by 7 wickets and won the series by 3-0.

While chasing this target, Chris Gayle had become mad and smashed 90 runs from just 41 balls and helped West Indies to stay in the chase and with cameos from Samuels, Sammy, Russell and Ramdin, West Indies had managed to win the match when 4 balls were remaining and proved that if you have to win a T20I match, you need to have good bowlers in your line up otherwise totals above 200 are also not safe.

While batting first, ‘Hitman’ named Rohit Sharma notched his first ever T20I ton with some glorious shots all over the ground and with Virat Kohli’s quick fire forty three runs, India had managed to post a total of 199 runs from 20 overs.

It was not surprised for anyone if India loses the match from there because they had not that kind of bowlers who can challenge the South African batsmen barring Ashwin and with the combined effort of AB de Villiers and JP Duminy, they had beaten India in 19.4 overs with seven wickets remaining and that proved once again that if any team wants to win T20I matches consistently, they need to have good bowlers who can take wickets at regular intervals otherwise opposition team can chase any total and can beat you on any given day.

While chasing 198, India off to a very good start and lost Shikhar Dhawan in 3.2 overs but he had done the damage and with another mature knocks from Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli helped India to stay in the game but both fall in quick succession to leg-spinner named Boyce but two comeback men named Suresh Raina and Yuvraj Singh did not lose their cool and helped India to cross the line and India clinched series by 3-0. India&#8217;s MS Dhoni won the toss and elected to field first. It was the game of entertainment from both the teams as a total of 489 runs were scored. Two centuries have been registered in the game, one from the Caribbean opener Evin Lewis and the other from KL Rahul. Both of them have registered their maiden T20I centuries. Rahul&#8217;s ton went in vain as India lost the game by 1 run.
