Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif celebrates his 37th birthday today. One of the best fielders in the world, Kaif was an integral part of the Indian team till 2006. His unbeaten 87 against England in the NatWest series final is the major highlight of his career as India went on to chase 326 runs at Lord’s. Kaif was a vital cog in the Indian lineup during the 2003 world cup in South Africa.
He is currently leading the Chattisgarh unit in the Ranji Trophy. Kaif played 13 Tests and 125 ODIs for India, scoring more than 3000 runs. Chattisgarh are new to the domestic circuit and Kaif’s experience will benefit the side. Kaif led the U19 India team to world cup victory in the year 2000. The side included the likes of Yuvraj Singh, Reetinder Sodhi.
IPL glory
He was also the most expensive player at the Rajasthan Royals dug-out during the initial years of the IPL. Kaif was earlier named the assistant coach of the Gujarat Lions side in the IPL this year. He worked along with head coach Brad Hodge.

Kaif had earlier showed his interest in being the fielding coach of the Indian team. The Indian team has stressed a lot on fitness and the importance of fielding well.
