Twitter users predicts outcome of the match but on both sides
The random Twitter account predicted a final between Mumbai and Pune, with Hyderabad and Kolkata eliminated in the play-off stages
We all have predicted the outcome of a match before the first ball of the match is bowled. Sometimes we are proven right while sometimes we are left stupefied. But an anonymous twitter account has set the micro-blogging site ablaze. He is spot-on with the predictions he makes. What is more intriguing is the fact that his finalists predictions for IPL 10 are absolutely flawless.
On the 3rd of May, a twitter handle named Uday Shetty with the picture of Nana Patekar’s role of the same name in the film Welcome, tweeted his personal predictions. He said Sunrisers Hyderabad, Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders and Rising Pune Supergiant will make it to the play-offs of the tenth edition of the Indian Premier League. Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders will be eliminated in the playoffs, and Mumbai Indians will play the finals against Rising Pune Supergiant.
The outcome
16 days since his prediction, the result is in our hands. As promised, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Pune and Mumbai made it to the playoffs. Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders’ journey ended in the playoffs itself, as Mumbai will now play against Pune in the finals. The anonymous fixer also predicted that Pune will win the IPL. We can get the answer only on Sunday, but till now, he is bang on the target. He uses the word “fixit” which leaves a mystery regarding his whereabouts.
In addition to that, he also made other predictions which were true indeed. The ‘Paul the Octopus’ of IPL tweeted that Pune will win their last win encounter against Kings XI Punjab. It was a do-or-die match for both Pune and Punjab, but Kings XI’s batting collapsed massively. He then tweeted saying everything is going by plan.
Today, he predicted that Mumbai will win the Qualifier 2 against Kolkata. In the same pattern like RPSvKXIP clash, Kolkata’s batting collapsed massively. These predictions may be wild guesses, but their success rate left everybody stupefied.
As it turns out the guy is not a fixer and had instead tweeted twice with either side being predicted the winner.
Here are some of the predictions that went wrong:
