The overseas players in the side are the most talked about before and after the IPL. With the option of playing only four overseas players, many were forced to sit out, warming the benches, while few cemented their place, prohibiting others to break into the side.

Given that there were far too many injuries and player&#8217;s itinerary colliding with the International duties, a majority of the foreign players were given a nod ahead in the tournament to display their prowess in the 22-yard. However, only a few of them were outstanding in the season.

The probable winner of the Orange Cap and the current holder of the same, David Warner has been miles ahead of the rest as he has accumulated as many as 604 runs in the tournament with more to go, given that Hyderabad would aim to play at least two more matches in the Playoffs.

The New South Welshman has consistently provided explosive starts in the tournament and even finished off games for his side. He raised many eyebrows by bringing up his ton against Kolkata Knight Riders within 11 overs of the innings. <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/michael-clarke-feels-warner-smith-will-keep-on-coming-to-india-to-play-ipl/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>David Warner</strong> </a>ended up with the highest score of the tournament with the help of his 126 in the same match.

He has already hit the most number of boundaries in the tournament and scored four half-centuries in the tournament along with the ton against Knight Riders. Warner also had an exceptional series as far as captaincy is concerned, giving opportunities to the likes of Siraj and Vijay Shankar who have blossomed in the tournament.

His fluent and effortless century (104*) against Mumbai is still fresh amongst one and all who followed the tournament religiously.

Although he had to depart early due to national duties, he made a longstanding impact in the tournament as he is sixth in the leaderboard for the orange cap by featuring in just 10 matches.

Hashim Amla has amassed 420 runs in those 10 innings at an astounding average of 60, scoring two centuries and two half-centuries. He signed off with yet another ton (104) against the Gujarat Lions.

Chris Lynn lit up the IPL with his express innings of 93 off just 41 balls, hitting 8 sixes,  at a strike rate of 226. He lost a large chunk of IPL action after dislocating his shoulder against the match against the Mumbai Indians.

He came back with a bang almost a month later, scoring 50 and 84 against RCB and KXIP respectively. The Queenslander has already overtaken the likes of Rohit Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane in the leaderboard, who have featured in all the matches for their team this season.

The Australian is currently scoring at a strike rate of 187, which is the highest amongst all the players in IPL.

<strong>Jos Buttler (wk) &#8211; Mumbai Indians</strong>

Jos Buttler was responsible for setting many a win for the Mumbai Indians in the IPL. The explosive wicket-keeper batsman was one-half of the hit opening pair for Mumbai Indians along with Parthiv Patel.

At a strike rate of 154, Buttler scored as many as 272 runs with a best of 77 against Kings XI Punjab. As Buttler had to depart before the playoffs began, he was overlooked to give much-needed match practice to Lendl Simmons in the later stages of the round robin league.

Having said that, Buttler made the necessary impact in the opportunities he has had, to make his country proud along with Stokes and Woakes.

Much was expected from the hot property in the IPL auction this season. Ben Stokes made every penny worth as he was responsible to single-handedly take the Supergiant side towards victory with few exceptional contributions, both with bat and the ball.

He has won three Man of the match awards in the tournament. Chris Morris has led the MVP chart(Most Valuable Player) for the majority of the tournament. At a strike rate of 163, Morris accumulated 154 runs lower down the order with a best of 52*. He was even more lethal with the ball as he clicked 150+ consistently, hitting the yorkers at the death.

Chris Morris was the leading contender for the Purple Cap as well as he clinched 12 wickets in the 9 games he played. Unfortunately, his campaign this season was curtailed due to an injury but was instrumental in the limited success Daredevils had in the tournament.

<strong>Pat Cummins- Delhi Daredevils</strong>

The pacer from New South Wales looked in good form with the ball in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and continued it in this year&#8217;s IPL as he picked up 15 wickets in the tournament. Fans also discovered his prowess with the bat as he contributed with auspicious cameos down the order as he hit 77 runs at an astounding strike rate of 145.

His 24 off just 12 balls against Gujarat Lions, along with Shreyas Iyer&#8217;s epic knock would be the most fondly remembered knock he played, as Delhi won the match out of nowhere. Along with the likes of Rabada, Shami, and Morris, the four-pronged pace attack of Daredevils was unplayable at times in the tournament.

The Afghan teenage sensation has been one of the highlights of the tournament as picked up 17 wickets at an economy of 6.6. Alongside Bhuvneshwar Kumar, the duo cleaned up the batting line up of the oppositions in tandem. He has been constantly among the wickets this season and has been the chief partnership breaker for his skipper David Warner.

Andrew Tye was all set to give Bhuvaneshwar Kumar a run for his money for the Purple Cap. Tye picked up 12 wickets in the tournament and also hit few lusty blows lower down the order for Gujarat Lions. He also picked up a hat trick against Rising Pune Supergiants.

In a line-up where Suresh Raina was finding it difficult to accommodate four overs from each bowler, Andrew Tye took the additional responsibility in the bowling department in the Gujarat Lions. Unfortunately, his tournament was also cut short due to dislocation of his shoulder while fielding.

<strong>Mitchell McClenaghan &#8211; Mumbai Indians</strong>

Thanks to Mitchell McClenaghan in the side for the Mumbai Indians, the likes of Mitchell Johnson, Tim Southee, and Lasith Malinga found it difficult to break into the side. Mitchell McClenaghan is the third highest wicket-taker in the tournament along with Imran Tahir with 18 wickets after the league stages.

McClenaghan has picked up the wickets at an impressive strike rate of 16.6, given that he has bowled 50 overs in the tournament. The Kiwi, along with Jasprit Bumrah, was instrumental for Mumbai Indians at the death. The team will now hope for McClenaghan to come good in the playoffs as well.

<strong>Imran Tahir- Rising Pune Supergiant</strong>

Imran Tahir&#8217;s zeal in the tournament has been exceptional in the tournament. The 38-year old has claimed 18 wickets at an economy of 7.85. His best spell of 3-27 came against the Gujarat Lions. His googlies and wrong ones along with his wily deception in the flight have been difficult to negotiate for the batsmen at times.

Rising Pune Supergiant will miss out on the services of these two giants due to national duties, namely Ben Stokes and Imran Tahir, in the all important Playoffs. Imran Tahir&#8217;s customary celebrations will be long lasting for many years to come.

<p>The Afghan teenage sensation has been one of the highlights&nbsp;of the tournament as picked up 17 wickets at an economy of 6.6. Alongside Bhuvneshwar Kumar, the duo cleaned up the batting line up of the oppositions in tandem. He has been constantly among the wickets this season and has been the chief partnership breaker for his skipper David Warner.</p>

<p>Andrew Tye was all set to give Bhuvaneshwar Kumar a run for his money for the Purple Cap. Tye picked up 12 wickets in the tournament and also hit few lusty blows lower down the order for Gujarat Lions. He also picked up a hat trick against Rising Pune Supergiants.</p>

<p>Thanks to Mitchell McClenaghan in the side for the Mumbai Indians, the likes of Mitchell Johnson, Tim Southee, and Lasith Malinga found it difficult to break into the side. Mitchell McClenaghan is the third highest wicket-taker in the tournament along with Imran Tahir with 18 wickets after the league stages.</p>
<p>McClenaghan has picked up the wickets at an impressive strike rate of 16.6, given that he has bowled 50 overs in the tournament. The Kiwi, along with Jasprit Bumrah, was instrumental for Mumbai Indians at the death. The team will now hope for McClenaghan to come good in the playoffs as well.</p>

<p>Imran Tahir’s zeal in the tournament has been exceptional in the tournament. The 38-year old has claimed 18 wickets at an economy of 7.85. His best spell of 3-27 came against the Gujarat Lions. His googlies and wrong ones along with his wily deception in the flight have been difficult to negotiate for the batsmen at times.</p>
<p>Rising Pune Supergiant will miss out on the services of these two giants due to national duties, namely Ben Stokes and Imran Tahir, in the all important Playoffs. Imran Tahir’s customary celebrations will be long lasting for many years to come.</p>
<p>Apart from these eleven, there were many sparkling individual performers in the IPL who miss out due to the combination of the XI. Brendon McCullum, Aaron Finch, Kane Willamson, Sunil Narine, Steve Smith, Kieron Pollard, Chris Woakes and many more, have been exceptional throughout the tournament.</p>

<p>The overseas players in the side are the most talked about before and after the IPL. With the option of playing only four overseas players, many were forced to sit out, warming the benches, while few cemented their place, prohibiting others to break into the side.</p>
<p>Given that there were far too many injuries and player&#8217;s itinerary colliding with the International duties, a majority of the foreign players were given a nod ahead in the tournament to display their prowess in the 22-yard. However, only a few of them were outstanding in the season.</p>

<p>The probable winner of the Orange Cap and the current holder of the same, David Warner has been miles ahead of the rest as he has accumulated as many as 604 runs in the tournament with more to go, given that Hyderabad would aim to play at least two more matches in the Playoffs.</p>
<p>The New South Welshman has consistently provided explosive starts in the tournament and even finished off games for his side. He raised many eyebrows by bringing up his ton against Kolkata Knight Riders within 11 overs of the innings. <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/michael-clarke-feels-warner-smith-will-keep-on-coming-to-india-to-play-ipl/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>David Warner</strong> </a>ended up with the highest score of the tournament with the help of his 126 in the same match.</p>
<p>He has already hit the most number of boundaries in the tournament and scored four half-centuries in the tournament along with the ton against Knight Riders. Warner also had an exceptional series as far as captaincy is concerned, giving opportunities to the likes of Siraj and Vijay Shankar who have blossomed in the tournament.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.crictracker.com/hashim-amla-feels-one-can-do-well-in-t20-without-the-big-hitting/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>Hashim Amla</strong></a> played two of the most exceptional innings in a losing cause. His fluent and effortless century (104*) against Mumbai is still fresh amongst one and all who followed the tournament religiously.</p>
<p>Although he had to depart early due to national duties, he made a longstanding impact in the tournament as he is sixth in the leaderboard for the orange cap by featuring in just 10 matches.</p>
<p>Hashim Amla has amassed 420 runs in those 10 innings at an astounding average of 60, scoring two centuries and two half-centuries. He signed off with yet another ton (104) against the Gujarat Lions.</p>

<p>Chris Lynn lit up the IPL with his express innings of 93 off just 41 balls, hitting 8 sixes,  at a strike rate of 226. He lost a large chunk of IPL action after dislocating his shoulder against the match against the Mumbai Indians.</p>
<p>He came back with a bang almost a month later, scoring 50 and 84 against RCB and KXIP respectively. The Queenslander has already overtaken the likes of Rohit Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane in the leaderboard, who have featured in all the matches for their team this season.</p>
<p>The Australian is currently scoring at a strike rate of 187, which is the highest amongst all the players in IPL.</p>
<h3><strong>Jos Buttler (wk) &#8211; Mumbai Indians</strong></h3>

<p>Jos Buttler was responsible for setting many a win for the Mumbai Indians in the IPL. The explosive wicket-keeper batsman was one-half of the hit opening pair for Mumbai Indians along with Parthiv Patel.</p>
<p>At a strike rate of 154, Buttler scored as many as 272 runs with a best of 77 against Kings XI Punjab. As Buttler had to depart before the playoffs began, he was overlooked to give much-needed match practice to Lendl Simmons in the later stages of the round robin league.</p>
<p>Having said that, Buttler made the necessary impact in the opportunities he has had, to make his country proud along with Stokes and Woakes.</p>

<p>Much was expected from the hot property in the IPL auction this season. Ben Stokes made every penny worth as he was responsible to single-handedly take the Supergiant side towards victory with few exceptional contributions, both with bat and the ball.</p>
<p>He has won three Man of the match awards in the tournament. <p>Chris Morris has led the MVP chart(Most Valuable Player) for the majority of the tournament. At a strike rate of 163, Morris accumulated 154 runs lower down the order with a best of 52*. He was even more lethal with the ball as he clicked 150+ consistently, hitting the yorkers at the death.</p>
<p>Chris Morris was the leading contender for the Purple Cap as well as he clinched 12 wickets in the 9 games he played. Unfortunately, his campaign this season was curtailed due to an injury but was instrumental in the limited success Daredevils had in the tournament.</p>
