IPL 10: I don't give Kolkata Knight Riders any message, says Shah Rukh Khan

Kolkata Knight Riders co-owner Shah Rukh Khan is a happy man at the moment. His side has managed to make it to the playoffs and that sees him on a comfortable ground. However, things would have only been better had the team won their final league game of the season against the Mumbai Indians. The match was their last home game of the season and also the last one at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata this season.

Shah Rukh Khan thanked the crowds for loyally turning up every time the Knight Riders were in action this season. He said that the team will try their best to win the trophy for the fans. SRK very well knows that the team now needs to win three games in a row to lift the title for the third time in the history of the tournament.

“The way the crowd has supported us in every match, we will try our best to return here again — with the trophy. We lost closely in a few matches. It’s difficult now but that’s even better. We have to win three matches now (Eliminator, Play-off, and Final),” he quoted as per the quotes in Xtratime.in.

The Bollywood superstar noted that the team was unfortunate to have not ended their home games on a winning note. SRK had a special word of praise for the Eden Gardens. He remarked that the stadiums in India are great, but Eden is class apart.

“It was the last match in Kolkata and a bit unfortunate that none of them will be here. But even if we don’t return again to play a match this season, God-willing we will come back with the Trophy. All stadiums are good across India. But their full capacity is our half capacity. We always had full house, even when we were not doing well in earlier seasons,” quipped Shah Rukh Khan.

SRK gets emotional

On the emotional side, Shah Rukh Khan said that the city has given the team a lot of confidence. They have been very supportive in times of joy and sorrow for the team. His words have pretty much reminded the fans of the promotional video that he had come up with prior to the commencement of the tournament. He thanked the crowds for their encouraging support throughout.

“We have had lows and highs, some pain and joy. I think we could achieve all these because Kolkata supported us throughout even when we were down. Kolkata gave us the same support when we were not doing well. The attachment from Kolkata fans is helping us moving forward. We will forever remain purple. I really wanted to tell everyone that I was busy in work and could not come earlier,” the Bollywood actor quoted.

Lastly, he conceded that he never gives any message to the teams. He said that his job is to hug the players and wish them all the luck everytime he meets them. “I don’t give the team any message. I just hug them and wish them fitness and all the best. I’m here to give them love. We have an experienced coaching staff and senior players to guide the team. I just come to give them hug,” Shah Rukh Khan concluded.
