Once again Mumbai Indians have started their campaign with a loss in their very first game as the Rising Pune Supergiant were led to a win by a brilliant knock from their newly appointed captain Steven Smith. Mumbai Indians had only the initial and final overs going on their side during their batting as the slow bowlers doing the trick for the home side. A perfectly paced innings from Smith after a quick start from Rahane in the chase handed a 7-wicket win for the Supergiant, their first ever win at home.
