Royal Challengers Bangalore didn’t pick the proper way to celebrate the 4th anniversary of their highest IPL total as the Kolkata Knight Riders bundled out RCB to just 49 runs at the Eden Gardens to set the new lowest total in the IPL history.
RCB looked favourites to win the game after they invited the home team to bat first and restricted them to just 131. But the visiting side’s innings never got off as they kept losing a wicket almost every over and none of their batsmen managed to get into double figures. Here are all the records and statistical achievements from the game.
1 – For the first time in the IPL, RCB has managed to bowl out KKR. This was also only the 3rd time in IPL where KKR got bowled out while batting first and the first such instance in last 8 seasons.
2 – Only the second time in the IPL where both the teams in a game got bowled out. Rajasthan Royal and Deccan Chargers were bowled out during a game in 2010 at Nagpur.
3 – Royal Challengers Bangalore’s innings is only the 3rd one in Twenty20s and the first one in the IPL where no batsmen managed to score in double digits. Other two: Titans vs Eagles in 2004 and Tripura vs Jharkhand in 2009.

49 – Royal Challengers Bangalore’s total of 49 all out is the lowest in IPL history and the 10th total of less than 50 in all Twenty20 cricket. Previous lowest total in the IPL was 58 by Rajasthan Royals in 2009 vs RCB only.
