Kolkata Knight Riders had retained their entire core which they have built gradually over the years. They have a well-balanced squad and, which is the reason why they opted to buy just 7 players in the auction.

Colin Munro happens to be the best pick and may turn out to be the most ‘value for money’ player. Munro has been in good batting form and had recently hit the second fastest half century in T20Is. Most of the retained players have also been in stupendous form, the outstanding ones being Chris Lynn and Andre Russell, who had an amazing time in the BBL. Skipper Gautam Gambhir, Manish Pandey, Robin Uthappa, and Sheldon Jackson among others have also performed brilliantly with the bat in domestic tournaments.

Bowling attack consists of Morne Morkel and Umesh Yadav who make up for the fast bowling lineup. KKR will be boosted by new recruits like Jason Holder, John Hastings and Jaydev Unadkat. John Hastings, to be particular, has also been impressive in his recent outings. Sunil Narine will again be their X factor and along with Brad Hogg, Shakib Al Hasan, and Kuldeep Yadav will form the spin bowling department.

Most of their players are in exciting form and fans would definitely hope for impeccable performance from the team.
