The fielding has also had an injection of ‘youthful exuberance’ apart from the all-round improvement in the fielding in the recently concluded edition of the IPL. 1. AB de Villiers – 19 catches:

AB de Villiers is one of the best fielders in the world. He does not run at the speed of light to stop the ball going to the fence. Instead, he glides across the blades of grass to stop the ball from reaching the fence. In addition, he does it at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, a cricketing venue that has the reputation as being one of the smallest stadiums in the country. Although he hasn’t been involved in many run-outs this season, de Villiers has the best catching record with 19 catches to his name.
