IPL 2018: Aaron Finch embarrassed because of this unique record

Aaron Finch has made quite a few headlines in the recent times. He had to miss out on the first game in IPL for his franchise as he got married at that time. However, the marriage didn’t seem to have worked wonders for the man who could potentially be Australia’s next limited overs skipper. Finch playing in the middle order of the KXIP line-up bagged two ducks in both the games that he has played.

Furthermore, as he debuted for Kings XI Punjab, he set another unique record. Although it looks quite unique, Finch is quite embarrassed about the record. This record is that Aaron Finch has played for seven IPL teams so far in his career, the most by any player.

Aaron Finch quite embarrassed to have played for so many teams

Prior to KXIP, he had played for Rajasthan Royals (RR), Delhi Daredevils (DD), Pune Warriors India (PWI), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), Mumbai Indians (MI) and Gujarat Lions(GL). However, he didn’t get to play a great deal for any of these teams. At the most, he has played two seasons for these teams which he feels is quite embarrassing.

But, Aaron Finch isn’t at complete fault here. Pune Warriors India and the Gujarat Lions are currently defunct teams. So, he had no option left other than to switch the teams in this case. Finch also defended himself saying that he was brought in as a replacement for the Rajasthan Royals. He added that he only played the last game in that tournament playing for RR. But still, he felt that he played for quite a lot of teams.

“It’s a little bit embarrassing, to be honest,” Finch was quoted as saying by cricket.com.au. “Two of the teams that I played for – one was Rajasthan; that I came in as a replacement player and only played the last game of the tournament. The other was Pune (and) the year after I captained, they folded. I suppose you could almost take two of them out. It’s still seven – it’s a lot isn’t it?”
