Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) are sweating over the availability of their gun player AB de Villiers for the all-important game against Mumbai Indians (MI). He didn’t play the last match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) owing to the viral fever and is yet to recover from it. His team missed him badly as most of the scoring was done by the skipper Virat Kohli. However, De Villiers continues to remain doubtful for their upcoming game which is again a huge blow for RCB.

RCB and MI both are currently languishing at the second half of the points table and it is crucial for them to win almost every game from here on to stay in contention for the playoffs. As these two teams clash on Tuesday, the tournament is set to get even more difficult for one of the teams after the loss in this game.

What if ABD is fit?

In case AB de Villiers is declared fit at the eleventh hour, it will be a huge boost for RCB and their fans as he will replace either Colin de Grandhomme or Brendon McCullum. The South African has been in superb form in the ongoing season of IPL and has played a couple of match-winning knocks for his team already. He also tore apart Chennai’s bowling last week but unfortunately, they lost the encounter as their bowlers failed to defend the huge total.

De Villiers has amassed 280 runs in 6 outings this year at an unbelievable strike-rate of 184.21 and an average of 56. He is expected to continue in the same vein in the remaining matches as the team management would love to see him play against Mumbai. Even he would be itching to get back on the field and make the most of his golden form in the near future.
