IPL 2018: AB de Villiers wants others to replicate the performance of two young RCB players

It has been a similar story for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). They have been heavily dependent on their star-studded batting once again and the bowling attack is found wanting as usual despite promising a lot ahead of the tournament. Mandeep Singh and Washington Sundar have performed well though in the last three games which has impressed AB de Villiers. However, he has urged his teammates to match their form in order to realise their potential.

Mandeep has been exceptional while batting down the order for his team with the scores of 37, 22 and 47*. But unfortunately two of his knocks have come in the losing cause as he is batting too low and by the time he smashes the ball, the game is all but over for RCB. Even Sundar has impressed with his all-round skills consistently bowlers 4 overs without much fuss and in the last game batted really well only to give a glimmer of hope to his team.

ABD lauds the duo

AB de Villiers, in his column for Times of India, has lauded Mandeep and Sundar both and has advised his team to pick cues from them to perform well in the upcoming matches. “Right now, three games into the tournament, with a win and two defeats, we are working incredibly hard to find momentum taking us in the right direction. If we can get the detail right, if we can match the form being shown by Mandeep Singh and Washington Sundar, then we can realise our potential,” he wrote.

The Mr 360 also went on to praise Sanju Samson who literally played the best innings of the tournament so far and took the game away from RCB. “Sanju Samson played a special innings for RR. I have stayed in contact with him by email for a few years now, and it is great to see an exciting young talent emerging in Indian cricket. How far can he go in the game? Believe me, there is no limit to his potential,” De Villiers added.
