Krunal Pandya has been a success story of his own in the history of the IPL. A year after his younger brother, Hardik Pandya, rose to prominence with his stint at the IPL, Krunal made his first appearance at the tournament. Playing for the same franchise, the Pandya brothers played a key role in the team’s title triumph last season. While Hardik was on the on-off mode in the tournament, Krunal was a consistent performer.
When the IPL retentions were on the cards, it was expected that Krunal could be retained by the franchise. However, the Mumbai Indians opted to retain the services of Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, and Hardik Pandya. Just the way Krunal loves the MI camp, the MI camp seems to be loving Krunal as well. The Mumbai Indians shelled out INR 8.8 crores to get back the services of Krunal Pandya via their RTM option.
With the retention, Krunal became the highest paid uncapped cricketer in the IPL 2018 auctions. And soon after he bagged a deal with the Mumbai Indians again, Krunal took to micro blogging site Twitter to express his excitement over the same. In his tweet, he showered his love and respect for the team owners of the Mumbai Indians and the team management of the franchise.
He thanked the team management for showing their faith in him. Krunal further expressed his excitement on being back with the Mumbai franchise. He hopes that the Mumbai Indians will continue to play like the champions. It is worth noting that Krunal was the key performer for the Mumbai team in the finals of the IPL 2017 against the Rising Pune Supergiant. He was the key difference between the two sides on the big day of the competition last year.
Here is what Krunal Pandya tweeted:
“From where should I start? I had a dream which became a reality with MI and today I am extremely happy too see Akash, Nita ma’am, Mahela and our Paltan’s faith in me. We are the champions and together at MI we will continue to play like champions. COME ON, MUMBAI !!!,” Krunal Pandya tweeted.
