IPL 2018: Axar Patel answers whom he would rather bowl to - Yuvraj or Gayle
Axar Patel regrets the situation, where he could not reciprocate the faith showed in him by the franchise with his performance.
Missing out on most matches in the first half of the tournament owing to a thigh injury, Axar Patel is now fit again and hopes to contribute to the team’s cause. Axar is the only player whom Kings XI Punjab retained before the IPL auctions of 2018. But he has failed to do justice to that so far as he could play only three games, scoring 15 runs and picking up 2 wickets.
When asked which devastating batsman from his team he would rather bowl to – Yuvraj Singh or Chris Gayle, Axar’s answer was confident and unmoved. As a bowler he would bowl to anyone, he said. But since they are on his team only, he wouldn’t mind if they carried on with their exploits.
“If you ask me, as a bowler, I will always want to bowl no matter what. No intention to let them keep playing, especially if they are in explosive form. But since they are on my team, I will want them to play all 20 overs and keep hitting fours and sixes.”
Eager to make it big
Axar Patel regrets the situation, where he could not reciprocate the faith showed in him by the franchise with his performance. But injuries cannot be controlled. So he wishes to give his best for the remaining matches and make sure the team does well on every occasion.
“See, I was very happy to know that I was the only one to have been retained by Kings XI leading up to the tournament, and it’s unfortunate that I haven’t been able to play much after getting injured. But now that I am fit, I am extremely eager to get back into action,” Axar said to the reporters as quoted by Sportskeeda. “Seeing how our first half of the tournament has been, I would love to contribute to the team’s success and make sure we keep doing well,” he added.
