IPL 2018: Bharti Airtel to introduce 5G services in all the Stadiums

The eleventh season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will begin tomorrow (April 7) when the Mumbai Indians will be pitted against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Wankhede Stadium. Meanwhile, the extravaganza is also a massive platform for private companies where they churn out strategies to engage the fans throughout the league.
Airtel is a renowned telecommunications company in India and they bring forth a variety of schemes and have garnered a significant customer base. Meanwhile, they are planning to introduce 5G services at stadiums across India in order to enhance the customer experience. The move might work wonders for the fans as they can connect to the world while watching the games.
“Experience to our customers”- Mardikar
Shyam Mardikar, the Chief Technology Officer- Mobile of Bharti Airtel, talked about the benefits of the service in a recent media interaction. “As part of our endeavour to offer a seamless high speed 4G experience to our customers, we are deploying this advanced Pre-5G solution to enable a high speed and high capacity in-stadia network experience at IPL match venues,” he said.
He also revealed the first stadium which will experience the newly introduced service in the venue. “The first venue to go live with Airtel’s Massive MIMO deployment will be the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai… We believe this will enhance the digital experience for our customers and enable them to share, post and stream content seamlessly even in locations with massive crowds,” Mardikar added.
The service provider has mentioned that the 5G Internet will be available in nine stadiums, which includes Jaipur, Bangalore, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Indore, Hyderabad, Mohali and Mumbai. The IPL has been a witness to some riveting cricket over the last seasons and the current edition is also speculated to be an enthralling one.
