Chennai Super Kings had gone through tumultuous times in the last couple of years. Following match-fixing scandals, the franchise was slapped with a ban of two years. However, the team will be making a comeback in the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). They have also announced Mahendra Singh Dhoni as the skipper of the team. Recently, they have launched their mobile application ahead of the eleventh season.
The app was inaugurated by Ravindra Jadeja in the presence of KS Viswanathan, the Chief Executive Officer of the franchise and other eminent dignitaries. The app has several features including news, views, match analysis, competition, games and several other exciting inclusions.
Moreover, match tickets and franchise merchandises can also be purchased from their website. During the launch ceremony, the CEO spoke to the media regarding their application.
“Predictive analytical engine for the IPL auctions”- Vishwanathan
“We have had an excellent track record in the opening decade, winning two IPL trophies, two Champions League titles and multiple Fair Play awards. This has been possible because of the commitment from the players and the strong support from fans, not just in Chennai but the world over. To give back to the fans CSK has been exploring ways and means of bringing fans closer to the team, be it via the official merchandise or tickets or being able to follow their Lions,” Jaffer said.
The CEO also spoke about their associations and the methods helped them compile a formidable squad for the season. “For this, we tied up with our official technology partner Tekplay Systems who developed the predictive analytical engine for the IPL auctions which helped us pick a balanced squad. Through the CSK app, we are bringing the fans and the team together on the digital platform,” he added.
