IPL 2018: CSK fans chant Dwayne Bravo's name in Mumbai local
It was a heartbreak for Mumbai fans as the Caribbean cricketer won it single-handedly for Chennai.
The Indian Premier League (IPL) couldn’t have got off to a better start to their new decade as Chennai Super Kings (CSK) snatched victory from Mumbai Indians (MI) in their fortress. The Wankhede Stadium was left shell-shocked by Dwayne Bravo who played a blinder of a knock coming in to bat at a hopeless position for his team. The fierce rivalry between the fans of the two teams is well known to everyone and this victory just gave CSK supporters yet another reason to troll the men who had defeated them in the final of 2015.
The game between MI and CSK is termed as the El Classico of the Indian T20 extravaganza and the tussle between the two teams has been the one to watch out for in its history. Mumbai is the only team which has a better head-to-head record against them in the tournament and their rivalry just renewed in this season after the gap of two years. Moreover, CSK managed to get back the core of their 2015 side as the likes of MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina, Ravindra Jadeja, Dwayne Bravo and Faf du Plessis were back in yellow jersey.
CSK fans rubbing salt on wounds of MI
Dwayne Bravo’s heroics with the bat helped Chennai clinch the thriller on the opening night of the tournament which only sent their fans into a frenzy. On the other hand, Mumbai fans were shocked as they were cruising at one stage and everything changed in a matter of few minutes. The whole Mumbai runs on the local train and the CSK fans didn’t even spare them to rub the salt on their wounds.
In a video which is going viral currently on social media, it could be seen that the upbeat CSK fans are chanting Dwayne Bravo‘s name only to tease the fiery rivals over the years. Even the crowd at Wankhede, at one point of time, was seen supporting CSK which is very very rare as it is the fortress of MI and a sea of blue is seen in the Stadium more often than not.
