IPL 2018: Danielle Wyatt wishes good luck to Rashid Khan ahead of the final
Rashid will be key for his team's fortunes in the title clash at the Wankhede.
The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will lock horns with the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the title clash of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in a few hours time. The game will be played at the Wankhede Stadium as the T20 superstars will be in action on a super Sunday in Mumbai. It is expected to be a humdinger of an encounter with many touting the final as a battle between Rashid Khan and the Chennai batsmen. However, England women cricketer Danielle Wyatt has wished the leg-spinner all the luck ahead of the big game tonight.
Wyatt and Rashid often exchange pleasantries on the social media as admire each other a lot. The duo met recently when the former was in India to take part in the Women’s T20 Challenge organised by the BCCI in order to promote the Women’s cricket in the country. She also doesn’t miss out on praising the wily bowler of Afghanistan whenever he manages to strangle the batsmen and wins the Man of the Match award.
Wyatt’s tweet for Rashid
It is no surprise that Danielle Wyatt follows the action in India closely despite her favourite team Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) failing to qualify for the playoffs. She is well aware of the final which will be played between SRH and CSK on Sunday and has wished her friend Rashid Khan all the luck. Wyatt posted her picture with Rashid and Sachin Baby during her recent visit to the country and captioned it as, “Good luck tonight lads #IPLFinal @rashidkhan_19 @sachinbabyy.”
However, the leggie was quick to respond to her wish and said, “Thank you.” Rashid is certainly the key in the mega finale of the IPL given the way he single-handedly knocked KKR out in the second qualifier at the Eden Gardens. Even against the CSK in the first qualifier, he had returned with the magical figures of 2/11 and had got the prized scalp of MS Dhoni. It will be interesting to see if he will be able to replicate a similar kind of performance when it matters the most.
