In the 22nd match of IPL 2018, Delhi Daredevils went up against the table topper Kings Xi Punjab in their home ground Feroz Shah Kotla. The visitors had already started the match with the disadvantage of losing their in-form hitman Chris Gayle to injury. After playing three big knocks in three consecutive matches, his ruling out could have been a hit for KXIP. But they went on to win the match by 4 runs.
However, debutant Avesh Khan put up a good show for the Delhi Daredevils and proved his mettle on the field by scalping two important wickets. His deliveries continuously clocked over 140 kmph, which is quite a commendable speed for an Indian fast bowler. The third delivery of his first over, which claimed the wicket of opener Aaron Finch, registered a speed of 148.7 kmph.
Trying to play an aggressive shot, Aaron Finch failed to time the ball properly. It went high up only to be caught at the cover by fielder Shreyas Iyer. Watch the video of the delivery and the dismissal here.

Finch has been going through a rough patch in the current year’s IPL so far. He already missed out the first few matches because of his wedding. Even after he joined the squad, he got out for ducks on the first two matches he played, back to back. In the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, he finally got off the mark with 14 runs.
In the absence of Gayle, it was a perfect opportunity for Finch to prove himself in the opener’s slot. But thanks to the speedster, he could only manage a meagre 2 runs.
Avesh, on the other hand, got hit for boundaries in the next few overs and gave away quite a bit of run. In fact, he turned out to be the most expensive bowler for his side with an economy rate of 9 in 4 overs. However, he made a good comeback by taking the wicket of Yuvraj Singh in the 13th over.
Delhi Daredevils is next up against the Kolkata Knight Riders on Friday, while Kings XI Punjab will be facing off with Sunrisers Hyderabad once again a day before that.
