The Indian Premier League has just started but the fans have already witnessed two high voltage games both involving the Chennai Super Kings. The yellow army was returning after a gap of two years and fans were eager to watch their team hammer the oppositions. The fact that over ten thousand people turned up to witness the practice games at Chepauk even with the absence of MS Dhoni shows the love for the franchise.
Both KKR and CSK were on the back of a good win heading into the game. However, the mighty Chepauk turned out to be a nightmare for KKR more often than not. They needed to be at their best to beat the yellow army. Put into bat, KKR smashes 202 runs with Andre Russell playing a blinder. However, CSK came out on top again thanks to efforts of Rayudu, Watson and the Englishman Sam Billings.
Morgan elated with Billings’ effort
Billings was on his debut for CSK. He scored 56 of 23 balls that eventually proved to be the difference. Eoin Morgan, England limited overs skipper was all praise for Billings and the IPL. He tweeted:”Just watched the highlights of CSK v KKR. @sambillings on What a tournament the @IPL is.”

Billings thanked Morgan for appreciated him and also commented that he will send some Captain Eoin Morgan for the skipper to celebrate. Billings had been a part of the IPL for the past two years but did not play any defining innings before yesterday’s game.
The Super Kings have some time off before they travel to Mohali to face the Kings XI Punjab. Faf Du Plessis is expected to return to full fitness before the game which is a great sign for the team who have already seen Mitchell Santner and Kedar Jadhav ruled out of the tournament. However, MS Dhoni is unlikely to tinker with the winning combination as he likes to maintain stability in his side.
