IPL 2018: Fearless cricket is the way forward for Mumbai Indians
Mumbai Indians are currently at the bottom of the table.
Mumbai Indians (MI) haven’t had the best of runs in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). They have stumbled thus far in the six games they have played and have only a solitary victory in their kitty. MI are currently languishing at the bottom of the table and chances of them qualifying for the playoff stage looks bleak.
Rohit Sharma, who is leading the team, hasn’t had an overwhelming run either with the willow. He notched a masterful knock against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), but apart from that, he has been abysmal and hasn’t been able to deliver the goods for the franchise. However, the skipper hasn’t run out of gas and has iterated that they would be fearless in the tournament here on.
Expect the same from all
“From here on, it’s all about never say die attitude. We want to get that in our game. When we play fearless cricket, the best cricket comes out of us. I expect the same from all of us going forward. Important things are to do our basics right and understand the situation of the game. Going forward, it is important to cash in whenever its necessary,” Rohit was quoted as saying in a video on Twitter.
The players haven’t been able to perform as per the expectations and have flattered to deceive. Nevertheless, the Mumbai skipper feels that they have the potential to stage a comeback and put forth their plans for the remainder of the event.
“If we can show 10 percent of the abilities we have, I think we will get the results that we will be looking for. As a group, it’s better to not think that far ahead. We’ve just got to stay in the moment and think about one game,” an optimistic Rohit added.
