5. Mitchell Johnson
Popularly known for his Ashes stint in 2013 where he terrorized the batsmen with his pace, Mitchell Johnson has picked around 60 wickets in his IPL career. He has been a phenomenal force for Mumbai Indians over the years. He was picked by the Kolkata Knight Riders for his base price of Rs 2 crores. With his former Aussie bowling partner Mitchell Starc in the KKR squad, the 36-year-old would have familiar faces in the dugout.
He was the pick amongst the MI bowlers in the finale last year. However, looking at his age and the fitness standards, there is less probability of Johnson featuring in another IPL. Like Malinga (who’s still playing International cricket), he too may don a mentoring role for the youngsters in the upcoming seasons. With the likes of Kamlesh Nagarkoti in the squad, Johnson’s presence is going to be influential in their growth.
