IPL 2018: Gautam Gambhir, Yuvraj Singh and others reveal their base price ahead of the Auction

With less than two weeks for the much anticipated Indian Premier League (IPL) auction, the excitement among fans, players, and franchises. Before going into the auction, all eight franchise will look to work on the team combination they wish to play. Questions like whom to buy, for whom to use the RTM card, till what price will they wish to go for a certain player, etc will be on the heads of the owners.
Similarly, the task for Indian Premier League Governing Council is to keep players under a belt. The base prices for both capped and uncapped players will be decided. However, the governing body has asked the capped players to set their own base prices which eventually helped players to be in the slot they wish. On the other hand, uncapped players base prices will be decided by the body only. The base prices start from 50 lakhs and go till 2 crores.
Capped Players to choose their own base price
According to The Times of India (TOI), the greats of modern day crickets have already set their base prices and many have already revealed. The former Kolkata Knight Riders skipper Gautam Gambhir and an experienced campaigner Harbhajan Singh have set the most luxury base price, that is 2 crores. The others who fall in the same base price are the West Indian trio, Chris Gayle, Kieron Pollard, and Dwayne Bravo. Also, Brendon McCullum along with Yuzvendra Chahal and Yuvraj Singh have also set their prices as 2 crores.
The Pathan brothers, Yusuf Pathan and Irfan Pathan have set their base prices as 75 lakhs and 50 lakhs respectively. The other capped players are also expected to reveal their prices soon. Furthermore, Harbhajan Singh believes that he will give his best and will play to his strengths for any IPL franchise. He also said that he had a dazzling decade-long stint with Mumbai Indians and he thoroughly enjoyed his journey.
“I have a decade-long stint with MI. I will look to bowl well and play to my strengths for whichever franchise I play in IPL. Let’s see what happens in the auction, said Harbhajan.
