The Sunrisers Hyderabad have been heavily dented by the absence of their star player David Warner. Even before the tournament has commenced, they have lost their biggest name on paper. While the batting seems dented, the bowling still looks safe in the hands of Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Kumar has been the most successful bowler in the tournament over the last couple of seasons.
While the recent performances and the form of Bhuvneshwar Kumar will please the SRH camp, they will also be bothered about how the other bowlers fare up in the tournament. Furthermore, they will have to regroup under their new skipper ahead of the tournament. As per the quotes in Sportstarlive, Bhuvi remarked that the SRH camp needs to get the little things right to strike the ideal balance.
“Our aim is to win the championship, but we know it’s not going to be easy, because each team is equally good. So, we have to do out things correctly throughout the tournament and look for the little things which will make us champions,” Bhuvneshwar Kumar quoted.
On the inexperienced bowling lineup
Commenting on the inexperienced bowling lineup, a very modest Bhuvneshwar Kumar cited that it is not the experience that comes in handy in tournaments such as this. He reckons that the inexperience will not be a problem for the side. He noted that the SRH squad has some very good variety with the likes of Rashid Khan and Siddarth Kaul rising to the occasions on multiple times.
“It is not always about the big names in the bowling department. If you look at our bowling, Rashid (Khan) is there, Siddharth Kaul, who has done really well last year, is also there among few young players. So we have a decent bowling line-up, which has done well in the last few years. I don’t think there will be any pressure or problem regarding the lack of experience,” Bhuvneshwar noted.
“Inexperience does’t mean that you do not have the experience of international cricket. If you talk about IPL, in the SRH team, players have played the league at least four to five times. So, it is more than enough experience to win the tournament,” he added further.
