IPL 2018: List of Bangladesh players and their base price for the auction

The excitement for the Indian Premier League (IPL) is increasing among the fans as the auctions date is approaching. The auction is set to take place on the 27th and the 28th of January in Bangalore. Over a thousand players are will go under the hammer. The fans and experts are already picking the best possible players for their franchises. There are players from various countries taking part in the mega-auction. All the players have already set their base price and would hope to be picked in the auction.

Top Bangladeshi Players up for grabs

Bangladesh players have always been an integral part of the IPL. Though they don’t participate in huge numbers in the IPL, they had very important roles for their franchises. This year, no team retained any of their Bangladesh players. All of them are back into the auction fold. A total of six players from Bangladesh are participating in the auction.

Bangladeshis who might make it big at the auction

Shakib Al Hassan: Shakib played for the Kolkata Knight Riders earlier in the IPL. He played 43 matches for KKR and scored 498 runs at a strike rate of 130.37 for them. Hassan also picked 43 wickets at an average of 25.6. He set his base price to a 100 lakhs. He is expected to make it big in the auction given his all-round and captaincy skills. Also, KKR has no option of using their RTM card for him.

Mustafizur Rahman: ‘The Fizz’ as he is fondly called back at the Sunrisers camp is also back into the auction. He was very effective for the SRH back in 2016 and played a crucial role in their triumph then. His ability to bowl well at the death will have many franchises interested in him. However, franchises will also take a note of his injuries. He missed the entire last season for SRH. He also set his base price to a 100 lakhs. If he is fully fit, there is a sleek chance of SRH using their RTM card for him.

Other Options

The other players featuring in the IPL auction are Tamim Iqbal, Mohammed Mahmudullah,  Sabbir Rahman and Abul Raju. All these players set their base price to 50 lakhs. These players never played in the IPL before. Mahmudullah and Sabbir are the capped players among the four. Franchises will be sceptical to pick them owing to their not-so-impressive T20 record. However, Sabbir might just stand a chance to be picked by one of the teams.
