IPL 2018: Match 10, KKR vs SRH – Most Valuable and Liable player of the game

Kane Williamson and Shakib Al Hasan's partnership was crucial during SRH's successful chase.

It took six IPL seasons for the Sunrisers Hyderabad to register their first win at the historic Eden Garden in Kolkata and fittingly came with the efforts of the former KKR players. The Sunrisers’ bowling yet again showed its class to restrict the Kolkata Knight Riders to just 138/8 in the 20 overs. The home team spinners caused troubles to SRH’s top order before Kane Williamson’s fifty put his team at the bay. The trend of matches going to the final over was broken by Yusuf Pathan as he finished off with a six on the last ball of the penultimate over.

The all-rounder from Bangladesh, Shakib Al Hasan turned out to be the most valuable player of the game for his all-round efforts. Shakib scored 27 runs with three boundaries after his economical spell included the crucial wickets of Chris Lynn and Sunil Narine. The left-hander was lightning in the field with two brilliant catches. His match performances were valued at 56.5 lakhs according to the CricTracker’s player value algorithm. Robin Uthappa and Shubman Gill were tied for the liable player of the game with three runs towards their side’s total but Uthappa came ahead due to his price tag.

Rashid Khan, who turned wicketless in the game, earned the lowest value for his performances in the SRH’s playing XI along with Deepak Hooda, remained unbeaten on five runs. Williamson’s fifty was valued at 54 lakhs which is the 2nd highest for any player in this game. Chris Lynn was the losing side’s MVP for his 49-run knock that was valued at 53.5 lakhs. Bhuvneshwar Kumar returned to the playing XI with a 3-wicket haul which was valued at 37.5 lakhs.

The tall Australian pacer Billy Stanlake continued his impressive show in this season as he bagged two wickets and bowled 15 dot balls in his four overs. Stanlake was valued at 27.5 lakhs; more than half his auction price of 50 lakhs. His match efforts were valued 7.7 times his average match salary. Shakib Al Hasan and Kane Williamson’s efforts were valued 3.96 and 2.52 times respectively their average match salaries.
