IPL 2018: Match 39, SRH vs RCB – Most Valuable and Liable Player of the game
The SRH skipper Kane Williamson was named as the man of the match for his fifty.
Sunrisers Hyderabad cruised to their 5th consecutive win once again showing their extraordinary skills in defending low totals with a 5-run win against the strong RCB line-up. Kane Williamson helped his team recover after a top-order failure scoring a 39-ball 56. His partnership with Shakib Al Hasan was crucial in pushing the Sunrisers’ total to 146. The Royal Challengers Bangalore were cruising at 60/1 in the chase after seven overs before the spinners picked up crucial wickets and Bhuvneshwar Kumar was just too good while they had 25 runs to save in the last three overs.
Shakib once again showed his worth in the SRH line-up with crucial runs and important wickets. He scored a 32-ball 35 with five boundaries sharing a worthy 64-run stand with Williamson. Shakib dismissed Parthiv Patel and Virat Kohli which gave SRH an opening to defend the total. The Bangladesh all-rounder’s performance in the match was valued at 71 lakhs as per the CricTracker’s Player Value algorithm making him the Most Valuable Player of the match.
AB de Villiers turned out to be Liable Player of the Match for the 2nd consecutive RCB match as he managed to score only five runs.
Shakib’s match value is 4.27 times his average match salary as he was bought by SRH for 2 crores. The RCB bowlers Mohammed Siraj and Tim Southee earned a value higher than that of Shakib with their 3-wicket hauls. Local boy Siraj’s 3/25 was valued at 72 lakhs while Southee’s 3/30 earned him a match value of 69 lakhs. The New Zealanders’ match value is 9.66 times his average match salary as RCB bought him at his base price of 1 crore. Three of the SRH’s top four took the bottom three spots in the valuation table.
Kane Williamson‘s 5th fifty of this IPL season was valued at 60.5 lakhs little behind Shakib’s match value. His match value is equivalent to 2.82 times his average match salary as he was auctioned for 3.2 crores. The RCB skipper Virat Kohli earned a value of 55 lakhs for his fielding efforts and top scored for his team with a 30-ball 39 that included five fours and six.
