IPL 2018, Match 9: Mumbai Indians vs Delhi Daredevils – 10 best memes/gifs

The Mumbai Indians fans had another heart-break today as their team suffered a third last-over loss in a row in IPL 11. While from results’ point of view, it’s not much of a problem as Mumbai has historically been known as the slow starters and they have made comebacks from such positions before, losing such close games consistently can actually shake their confidence as these are teasing losses.

This particular game against Delhi Daredevils was well and truly in their grabs and they were running away with it in the first innings, but all of a sudden, they lost momentum and couldn’t get as many runs as they should have in the last 5 overs and then with the ball as well, they failed to hit their areas consistently despite having a quality bowling unit.

They picked Akila Dananjaya as the mystery factor, but Dananjaya seemed to be over-awed by the occasion and wasn’t in control at all in terms of the speeds and the lengths he bowled. The 24-year old presented easy scoring opportunities for the Delhi batters which they accepted gleefully and deposited him into the stands on a regular basis.

The other Mumbai bowlers were not at the top of their game either and to make it even worse, they dropped catches as well and that too at the crucial junctures of the game. The captain Rohit Sharma looked really frustrated at the soft mistakes made by his teammates and so was the home crowd which had gathered in huge numbers in anticipation of the first victory of the season.

The twitter was at its brutal best at the end of the game and didn’t spare the Mumbai Indians fans at all. There were plenty of hilarious memes revealing their sad emotions as the reigning champions are drowning fast in the tournament.
