IPL 2018: Mumbai Indians cheerleader goes 'FFS' on Hardik Pandya
A cheerleader was caught on camera reacting to the dismissal of Hardik Pandya.
Cheerleaders are usually considered to be the associate entertainers of the Indian Premier League, and it is hard to tell whether they actually care about the result or not. But one cheerleader of proved that to be very much wrong in the 55th match of this season between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Daredevils.
While chasing a total of 174 set by DD, Mumbai Indians were not looking so great as they kept losing wickets back to back. Hardik Pandya instilled hope in the heart of the fans for a while with a couple of fours and quick runs between the wickets.
But an unnecessary shot towards the backward point got him out, and no one was happy at his shot selection other than the Delhi team. The Mumbai dugout was left dumbfounded, young Ishan Kishan had his hands on his head. The TV camera recorded one of the MI cheerleaders at the boundary line having the same reaction, followed by a “for f***’s sake” at Pandya.
A fan posted the clip of the video, saying it was the “real gold” of the match and tagging Australian cricket expert Dean Jones for his opinions. Jones usually replies to fans’ queries on Twitter as a part of Star Sport’s IPL campaign.
Here is the video
The former cricketer retweeted the video, saying “Love her passion!”
Though the scene looks hilarious on second thoughts, she had every reason to react that way if she cared about the team’s performance. The shot was indeed very poor, given the match was more or less in his hands at this point. The catch was too easy for substitute Rahul Tewatia at the backward point. Mumbai still had a glimmer of hope in the form of Ben Cutting and his knock of 37 runs. But in the end, Delhi took the match home, winning it by 11 runs.
Stuck at only 12 points now, there are no more hopes for Mumbai to qualify for the playoffs this season. Seems like Hardik’s mistake cost Mumbai their journey in this IPL.
