IPL 2018: Mumbai Indians supporter erupts after MS Dhoni took the field
Chennai Super Kings brushed aside the Mumbai Indians in a cliffhanger.
MS Dhoni has been one of the most iconic figures in the history of Indian cricket. He isn’t only admired in India, but also have millions of admirers followers across the globe. Meanwhile, the Indian Premier League (IPL) is the only platform where fans shift loyalties for the players as the cricketers are divided as per their respective franchises.
However, an incident panned out at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai which manifested unconditional regards for Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The opening match between the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai (MI) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) turned out to be an absolute thriller as both teams strained every muscle to overpower each other.
The former Indian skipper strolled out to bat with CSK in all sorts of trouble having lost Shane Watson, Ambati Rayudu and Suresh Raina in quick succession. Meanwhile, the Mumbai supporters were delighted over their team’s domination. However, one supporter, who was wearing the jersey of Mumbai Indians, pulled out the CSK outfit and donned it when Dhoni went out to bat.

The cliffhanger at the Wankhede
The first game was a witness to some thrilling moments. Chennai Super Kings began handsomely with the wicket of Rohit Sharma. Nevertheless, Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav pulled the hosts back in contention. Krunal Pandya’s blitz propelled the score to a competitive one for the Indians. Mumbai had the lid over Chennai for a chunk of the second innings.
However, Dwayne Bravo, the Windies cricketer, stomped out and changed the complexion of the game. He went hell for leather from the outset and made a mockery of Mumbai’s pace attack. He smacked three sixes off Jasprit Bumrah and got them to the brink of victory. Kedar Jadhav finished the game with a couple of boundaries off Mustafizur Rahman.
