IPL 2018: Nitish Rana relishes his fanboy moment after meeting Shah Rukh Khan
The youngster met him for the first time.
Nitish Rana played a crucial role in the opening game of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) which they won easily by 4 wickets to start off the season with a bang. In his debut game for the franchise, Rana went on to scalp the wickets of AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli off consecutive deliveries and also scored 30-odd runs in the chase. The franchise owner Shah Rukh Khan was also present at the Eden Gardens to witness the victory of the team. However, Rana was overawed after meeting the Bollywood Superstar for the first time.
The youngster was bought by KKR after a massive bidding for a decent amount of Rs. 3.4 Crores in the auction. He was one of the key players for Mumbai Indians last year and caught the eye of everyone with his amazing hitting. Though very few were aware of his bowling abilities which were on show on Sunday, albeit only for one over in which he did the job for his captain.
Huge moment for Rana
Nitish Rana was extremely happy after meeting after the most famous Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan after the game and explained his feeling after he tapped on his back for playing a role in the team’s victory. He cleared that he didn’t have much interaction with the actor but the smile on his face while speaking to the reporters explained it all.
“No, I didn’t have much interaction with him. He was very busy in meeting people. I will go and talk to him. For now, I didn’t have much interaction with him. He said well-played and tapped me. It was a very big moment for me because I had never met SRK sir,” he said.
KKR will play their next game on Tuesday against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
