IPL 2018: Pawan Negi walks back down to reality
Pawan Negi has come to term with his price tag for the upcoming auction.
Pawan Negi, the name might just ring a bell in your head. A youngster who was fought upon by the buyers at the auction table. A fight many players seek during an IPL auction. Negi was the wonder boy in 2016. He was the man everyone was looking for in the uncapped player’s pool.
Delhi Daredevils went in hard in the auction. They spent as many as eight and a half crores rupees on this left arm spin all-rounder. The decision soon was regretted by the owners as Negi failed to impress. In the eight matches he played, Negi picked up just one wicket and scored a whole of 57 runs. He was released by DD in the next auction.
Negi was then picked up by Royal Challengers Bangalore for another crore. He showed his class then as he picked up 13 wickets and also entertained with some powerful hitting. A cricketer who was crushed by his price tag regained his confidence in the season of 2017. He has been thrown into the pool once again.
Negi settles for lesser amount
Pawan Negi, however, has come to term with his price tag for the upcoming auction. As the Indian Premier League teams start afresh this season, many would be looking to buy some real talent at a cheap price. Negi might have just identified the same. A multimillion player has dipped his price tag to just 50 lakh Rupees.
His last season and the domestic season will be looked upon by all the franchises before they throw their money and trust in Pawan. After being failed once under the pressure of his huge price tag, Pawan has finally learned from his mistake.
He has strategically based his price there, his price tag interest a lot of buyers and his speciality can also attract the franchises. A specialist in the shortest format of the game is always welcomed by any team in the Indian Premier League. It will be interesting to see who and for how much Pawan Negi is sold for.
