IPL 2018: Players franchises should not retain
A lot of people have their opinions on who to retain, but what about the ones that shouldn't be.
5. Delhi Daredevils
Sam Billings, Corey Anderson, Carlos Braithwaite, Mohammed Shami and Angelo Mathews are the five cricketers from among the Daredevils who will not be retained. Billings, the Englishman flattered to deceive after an impressive first season in the IPL scoring just 138 runs in 6 matches last season.
Anderson and Braithwaite have delivered very little after promising the skies for their respective national teams. Anderson merely scored 142 runs in 11 matches picking 3 wickets while Braithwaite managed a tally of 12 runs in 2 matches he got to play.
Shami, on the other hand, is not very effective in the T20 format and enjoys a high economy rate making him an unsuitable pick. Shami picked just 5 wickets in 8 matches at an economy rate of 9.34.
The Sri Lankan captain was recently ruled out with a critical injury during the series against India and considering his ever-declining fitness levels over the years is not a good option to retain. Mathews was also a poor performer during the last IPL racking up just 32 runs in 3 matches.
