IPL 2018: Ranveer, Varun and Jacqueline among participants in the opening ceremony
Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings will play the opening game in Mumbai on April 7.
The eleventh season of Indian Premier League (IPL) will get underway in a couple of week’s time. The retention ceremony was staged in December followed by the auction in January at Bangalore. With the tournament coming closer, the buzz surrounding the league has escalated. Before the start of the event, there will also be an opening ceremony at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai where several celebrities will grace their presence.
Prominent Bollywood actors like Ranveer Singh, Varun Dhawan, Parineeti Chopra, Tamanna and Jacqueline Fernandez are expected to set the stage on fire during the 45-minute ceremony. Recently, an official of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) spoke to the media regarding the participation of the stars. Also, he emphasized the significance of reaching out to the fans in order to increase the excitement of the tournament among the viewers.
“There shouldn’t be anything to complain”
“Ranveer, Varun, Jacqueline, Parineeti and Tamanna are some of the Bollywood stars who will set the stage on fire at the opening. Apart from that, you will also have the likes of Mika and Prabhudeva to entertain the fans. The idea is to not just give those at the ground a good time, but to also give those watching on television a show they will remember in the days to come.” the official was quoted as saying by CricketNext.
Budget is something which requires utmost attention as a bit of deviation from the same might lead to problems surrounding the plans to be implemented. Moreover, it’s also necessary to get the performance synchronized accordingly in order to keep the performers satisfied. The official also iterated the time of performance of the movie stars, the budget, and wishes for the event to be free of hassles.
“See, the budget is Rs 20 crore and that has been approved. Now, let us not get into minute details on who is being paid what for how long. As long as we are able to give you guys a show worth remembering, there shouldn’t be anything to complain about. We believe that this opening ceremony will just like in previous years, set the tone on what is expected to be a thrilling tournament over the next 50 days.” he added.
