IPL 2018: Rishabh Pant enjoying his time with the seniors
The wicketkeeper batsman is in the form of his life at the moment.
The Indian Premier League brings out the best in a lot of young players. The IPL is a stepping stone for players looking to realize their dream of playing for their country. Though it is only a domestic T20 tournament, players from all over the world come together to compete against their counterparts. It provides them with the experience of playing under pressure and handling match situations.
In the hunt for the orange cap
‘Momentum’ is an important word in sports. Once a player gets the positive momentum going, it is very difficult to stop him and everything starts going his way. The Delhi Daredevils have had a poor season again as they are at the bottom of the table and have failed to build a winning momentum. But Rishabh Pant, wicketkeeper-batsman for the Daredevils looks in the form of his life. He is taking world class bowlers apart and hitting them to his liking. Pant has also scored a century and is in the hunt for the orange cap.
The IPL is a long tournament and players need to refresh themselves during the transit time. Ahead of Delhi’s game against the Chennai Super Kings, Pant spent quality time with MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina. He even posted a picture with his seniors which clearly showed the positive bonding among them. He tweeted: “When you have senior like these @msdhoni @ImRaina.”
Though the Daredevils are out of the tournament, Pant needs to maintain his form and continue playing fearless cricket to stake a claim for a spot in the national team.
He was overlooked for India’s tour to England in spite of his good run in the IPL. He must keep believing that a call-up is just around the corner and he must keep doing what he does best.
