With impressive innings from skipper Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have kept their playoff dreams alive. The duo was at their best during the run chase against the Shreyas Iyer led Delhi Daredevils (DD) when they notched up a superb 118-run stand.
The visitors looked in trouble when they lost two quick wickets in the form of Parthiv Patel and Moeen Ali who was promoted to open only in his second IPL game. However, Kohli’s brilliant 40-ball 70 along with De Villiers’ unbeaten knock of 72 in just 37 balls was too good for the Delhi bowlers who looked absolutely stunned after being on the receiving end of the onslaught.
Funny banter
During the run chase, one small incident caught everyone’s attention when the Virat Kohli was in the middle. Rishabh Pant was seen cheering and supporting the spinners from behind the wickets. In the 7th over of the innings, it looked as if something didn’t let Kohli concentrate. It was Pant once again who was saying something to the bowler and was constantly in the ears of the batsman. Kohli was taking guard when the youngster said something, he turned back and in a funny way stared at his Delhi teammate. The duo shared a couple of words before they got back to their own business.
The IPL Twitter handle posted the video on their official Twitter handle which made people enjoy the banter between the two Delhi-born players. The fans also hilariously deliberated the discussion between the two.

However, once Kohli reverted his mind back to cricket, there was nothing which could’ve challenged him. He along with AB de Villiers took the side close to the victory. Kohli failed to take the side to the win when he was done by a superb delivery from another Delhi-born player Amit Mishra. However, the Superman from South Africa made sure the side went over the line when he hit a six to seal the game for RCB.
