The IPL 2018 Auction turned out to be a mega-hit. The big stars of the world cricket went under the hammer. The auction saw some players retained by the franchises, while some had to change loyalties. As Nita Ambani, the owner of Mumbai Indians pointed out, it was indeed an emotional affair. And now, the Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma also got a little nostalgic about his team.

Rohit Sharma has been leading the Mumbai Indians team for quite some time now. Needless to concede, his affinity towards the team is immense and it is certainly bound to be so. He has successfully led the Mumbai Indians to three title wins in the history of the tournament. The Mumbai franchise is the only team to have won the tournament thrice.

Over the years, the success mantra for the consistency of the Mumbai Indians has been their strategy to retain the core group of players. However, with this mega auctions taking place recently, a lot of the core members of the Mumbai camp moved to the other teams. Also, at the same time, new faces have been roped in by the MI think tank. Amidst this backdrop, Rohit Sharma got a little nostalgic about his champion side.

He took to micro-blogging site Twitter and posted a picture of the victorious Mumbai Indians squad of the 2017 edition of the IPL. He also added a message along with it. He admitted that it was indeed great fun to play with those players. He thanked all those players for having put up such commendable performances over the years for the Mumbai side.

He further wished everyone all the luck in their future endeavors. Among the notable faces who will no longer be a part of the Mumbai Indians are Harbhajan Singh, Lasith Malinga, Mitchell McClenaghan, and Ambati Rayudu.

Here is what Rohit Sharma tweeted:

“Will miss this super fun and talented bunch, big thanks to all you guys for putting up a great effort and contributing towards the teams success. I wish you the best going forward @mipaltan,” Rohit Sharma tweeted.
