IPL 2018: Royal Challengers Bangalore kick off a six-day camp in Bengaluru

The 2018 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is just a couple of weeks away. The premier T20 league is set to roll out in the first week of April this year. With the tournament coming close, the preparations have already begun. Recently, the Royal Challengers Bangalore have started off their preparations for the season.
To begin the preparations, a six day camp has been scheduled for the players of the franchise. The camp kick started in the city of Bengaluru, the home city of the RCB team. The big names of the RCB squad took part in the practice camp. The domestic big names like Parthiv Patel and Mandeep Singh were seen at the camp. Also, Sarfaraz Khan, the player who was retained by the Royal Challengers Bangalore before the IPL 2018 Auctions, was spotted attending the camp.
Training under the watchful eyes
The head coach of the team, Daniel Vettori, was the supervisor at the camp. Under his watchful eyes, the team underwent some serious practice session. Also, RCB’s Batting Talent Development and Fielding coach Trent Woodhill was seen supervising the players along with Vettori. Meanwhile, the newly appointed bowling coach of the franchise, Ashish Nehra, was seen grooming the bowlers.
The players underwent various fitness tests, including the popular yo-yo test. The trainers who trained the players in the camp were A.I. Harsha and Shravan Kumbagowdana. The captain of the Royal Challengers Bangalore, Virat Kohli, was missing at the session.
The notable names that participated in the event were Sarfaraz Khan, Parthiv Patel, Manan Vohra, Kulwant Khejrolia, M. Ashwin, Pawan Negi, Pavan Deshpande, Aniruddha Joshi, Aniket Choudhary and Mandeep Singh. Another bigger camp is expected to be planned with the entire RCB squad in the coming days.
The overseas players are also expected to be a part of that camp. The RCB team boasts of big names like AB de Villiers and Brendon McCullum this season. They are certainly going to sizzle in the batting department along with the Indian batting maestro Virat Kohli.
