The Sunrisers Hyderabad are on a roll this season. The Orange Army recently became the first team to qualify for the playoffs in the 2018 edition of the tournament. The key to their success has been the bowling prowess. The likes of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Siddarth Kaul, Rashid Khan, and Sandeep Sharma have been bowling excellently well for them.
To add to the bowling might, the all-rounders like Shakib Al Hasan have managed to contribute heavily as well. Among the lot, the bowler who has been the most impressive in terms of improvement is Siddarth Kaul. The name of Siddarth Kaul is not a new one for the followers of the Indian domestic circuit. He has been around for quite some time now.
Very few people know the fact that Kaul was a part of the same India U19 team that had lifted the U19 World Cup in 2008 under the leadership of Virat Kohli. Certainly, he is not short on experience. Owing to his excellent run of form in the domestic circuit and the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League, Kaul received a call up in the Indian side.
Getting the national call-up
He has been named in the Indian squad for the limited overs series in England. Team India is scheduled to play limited overs cricket in Ireland and England before playing Tests against the latter. Kaul has managed to get a place in both ODI and the T20I squads. Commenting on his national call-up and his stay in the IPL 2018, Siddarth expressed his delight.
As per the quotes in Times of India, Kaul remarked that it is his hard work that has paid off. More importantly, he noted that his primary focus is on playing well for the Sunrisers in the IPL at the moment. He feels that his role in the team is very well defined.
“I am elated on my selection in the Indian team. The good wishes of my parents and my hard work of over the years has paid off. My role in Sunrisers set-up has been well defined and that has helped me perform. Hopefully, I can continue my good form in India colours also,” Siddarth Kaul remarked.
