IPL 2018: Virat Kohli visibly disappointed as Hardik Pandya survives
Virat Kohli lost his cool at the umpires.
The IPL 2018 game between the defending champions Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore at the historic Wankhede will be remembered for several reasons. One of those was for the poor umpiring in the first innings when Hardik Pandya was at the crease.
The infamous incident took place in 19th over of the first innings when Chris Woakes bowled a peach of a delivery to the all-rounder Hardik Pandya. The batsman was adjudged out by the on-field umpire for caught behind. Pandya went to take the review. The Snickometer showed a slight deflection when the ball went past the blade. But, the third umpire declared it not out.

This decision from the third umpire made the opposition skipper Virat Kohli lose his cool at the on-field umpires. He even pointed out his finger at an umpire and raised an objection. He was visibly disappointed with that crucial decision. However, match referee is yet to make a decision on Virat Kohli’s behavior.
What happened after the decision?
This decision gave Hardik Pandya wings, which helped him to add 17 runs off the other four deliveries he faced in the innings. The decision surely dented RCB and their bowlers eventually gave at least 10-15 extra runs. MI posted a total of 213/6 in 20 overs. Coming to the chase, RCB never looked in the game after losing two quick wickets of Quinton de Kock and AB de Villiers. Bangalore lost the plot barring Virat Kohli’s unbeaten 92-run knock. They conceded the game to MI by 46 runs.
For RCB to come back strong, their bowlers need to find the good line and their batsmen have to be consistent in adding runs to the scoreboard. RCB will next play against Gautam Gambhir’s Delhi Daredevils on 21st April.
